I am a freelance graphic designer, working on doing more illustration work. Some projects I'm working on right now...
An illustrated anthology about dragons, it's supposed to look like a handwritten field-guide for dragonslayers, full of cartoons, comics, recipes and assorted blue prints for Rube Goldberg (Wile E. Coyote for you youngsters) contraptions designed to trap and kill them. When it's all put together it'll tell he story of the first slayers, if it reads right. I've be working with a group of writers, on the various individual parts. I'm going to self-publish the book through my company as a portfolio piece for publishing, design and illustration. Check out the dragon designs I've done so far...
[link]I'm trying to coordinate and publish an edgy anthology featuring work by myself and other artists, taking a stand at how many people in the comics insdustry have been used horribly. Proceeds will hopefully go to a charity that will benefit golden age artists and writers. Still in the development stage, but I'm hoping this will be a faster paced project as I'm only drawing on short piece and just pre-press and publishing.
On the back burner until the above books are done...
I've been developing nostalgic sci-fi adventure comic-strip. I've written about three years worth of scripts and now I'm finishing the character designs and have started working on some promotional ar and page layouts.
[link]I just finished a script for a full graphic novel, a hard boiled western horror comic, full of history, horror, and gunfights! I'll be starting work on developing the art as soon as the Dragon book is done.
Next in line is another book project! I'm going to illustrate a book of poetry. An archeologist's notebook of ancient battlegrounds, legendary weapons and mythic warriors. It's been on the back burner for a couple of years, due to various scheduling issues, a few false starts and roadblocks, the writer going off his meds once or twice, (just kidding)! It's just a matter of working it back in my schedule. I expect to start the illustrations as soon as I get a few of the above projects done.
My day job...
